Celestial Symphony

Winner: Ed M. of Lahaina, Hawaii

- Pure white “termination dust” begins to cover the Chugach Mountains and the hardiest trees have yet to drop their leaves, heralding the arrival of autumn across Alaska. Moonrise lends an ethereal glow to the land as a majestic multi-colored auroral curtain graces the star-filled skies. Thousands of Trumpeter Swans, Geese and Sandhill Cranes migrated over the passes taking advantage of the clear and calm night. Their wild calls filled the scene for hours adding a touch of magic and sound, creating a flawless celestial symphony.
