Highly Active
Although auroral activity has been forecast to be “highly-active” recently, that has not really been the case overall!
On a scale of 1-100 (100 being “highly active” deep-red or multi-colored aurora which should be witnessed in the far south) these displays have been in the less-than-5 percentile!
Most of the variables that could create very powerful auroras were present…however the “complete recipe” for highly-active aurora was missing some very critical ingredients!
To be sure there were a few nice moments though when things powered-up with a little splash of color & some unusual shapes…it all has to do with the coming-together of the correct variables.
Southcentral & Interior Alaska, across most Polar Regions of earth as well, surely had some beautiful displays at times!
