“…The rich gradient hues of nautical twilight herald the arrival of the longer days of Alaska springtime, as lavish blues silhouette the central Chugach Mountains. "Night" is only 3 hours longs, a very short window for aurora viewing. Patience & determination pay off though, as vivid explosions of color fill the sky, radiating countless spires of towering light like midnight lace amid the stars. The magnificent display danced and sparkled for a few brief seconds before disappearing altogether. The rest of twilight brought nothing more but the memory of the spectacular and rare scene…”
