“…Let it not be said that a mother Polar Bear is less than attentive to its young. On the frigid barrier islands of the Beaufort Sea this sow not only dug a pit in the gravel to lay in for warmth but she became a warm and furry rug for her lone cub to hug. The sleepy cub was entirely content in its position, only moving its head a few times. Both napped through the day conserving energy before becoming active at night…
