“Autumn's Prime”

“…During Alaska’s autumn prime, as the lengthening nights cool off and fresh snowstorms adorn the great moonlit peaks of the Alaska Range, a quiet transition arises. The waters of the Susitna and Talkeetna Rivers begin to drop, running clearer and slower. The gold and red foliage of the forests and muskegs enrich the land, before a hard freeze takes everything to the ground. Wildlife is readying for the winter ahead and migratory flocks fill the skies by the thousands in their effort to push south. In the calm of it all, brilliant auroral displays fill the night adding more color and grace to the season, as they spiral across the stars in silence…”
