“…Starlight blankets the western Chugach Mountains during this 1-hour exposure of the night sky. Polaris, the North Star, lies motionless in the center of this amazing scene, as the rotation of our earth shows that we continually spin at an incredible speed. Just seconds before ending the exposure, subtle pink-white aurora began to rise up on the horizon, competing for the hour of starlight across the river delta and washing out the lower star trails…”
