“…Cook Inlet and Knik Arm are both swept twice a day by the second highest tides in the world. Slack tide turns the waters smooth, leaving the skiffs at anchor motionless. Midway is the dark line of huge bluffs off Point McKenzie & the far away silhouette of Mt. Susitna (Sleeping Lady). A beautiful collage of color rises over the curvature of the western horizon as wisps of multicolored aurora command the night sky.
