“Nature's Blend”

“…After weeks of windless sub-zero temperatures in mid-November, open leads in the river allowed ice fog to form & paint the ground and brush with thick hoarfrost. Although a quarter moon lies low in the southwest, most of the land is lit by the powerful aurora returning to Alaska from beyond the curvature of the earth. Earlier this aurora danced over Alaskan skies right after dusk twilight, pushing equator-wards immediately & vanishing for over 7 hours. As the star clusters of the Pleiades, Hyades & Orion constellations reach their peaks in the southern night, rare red & white aurora mix across the starfields, above the Chugach Mountains. A perfect collection of Nature’s blend…”
