“…The great central peaks of the Alaska Range and the foreground spruce and birch forest are silhouetted and blanketed by the sweet-light of aurora and starlight. In the moon-less sky the Milky Way descends the night from light years away as colorful auroral beams dance like piano keys to the north above and beyond 20,320 foot Denali (Mt. McKinley). While our world escalates continuously with various types of man-made light pollution scenes such as this are becoming increasingly rarer to enjoy. Not very long ago, folks could venture out under dark skies to enjoy a view of the Heavens in most areas of Earth. Fortunately for those humbled by its presence, Alaska remains a part of the world where the dark, sacred night is still treasured…”
