“…Moonrise blankets the snowcover of the northwestern Chugach Mountains and vast glacial valley with its ethereal sweet-light and lengthy stretches of sub-zero temperatures and ice fog of Alaska’s mid-winter coating the brush, forests and valley floor with thick hoar-frost crystals.  In a brief and spectacular surge of beauty and power, a chartreuse ribbon of intense aurora ripples across the scene in silent reverence, swirling and splitting apart in its dance.  Within minutes the grand display spent its energy and quickly disappeared over the horizon to the east, gracing Canadian skies…”
