Lyrid Meteor

The Lyrid Meteor shower was relatively active on Monday night with about 50+ meteors seen within the 4 hours of “night” Alaska currently has.

Though 2 large fireballs were enjoyed, they were behind & above the camera view. In all I managed to capture 5 smaller ‘shooters’ in different images.

The one below was the brightest little zipper the just happened to occur near a subtle auroral glow to the north.

The moonless night allowed the northern view of the Milky Way to carpet the sky with stars.
